This year's dunkers shared their thoughts ahead of competing in front of the atmospheric Utilita Arena crowd.

Marcus Delpeche (B. Braun Sheffield Sharks) said: "I'm super excited to be back in the dunk contest this year and looking to take home the title. The crowd was crazy last year, and I'm hyped to have another chance to win the dunk contest. To have Hensy here too is going to be great, and hopefully we can bring that title back to Sheffield with us!"

Hensy Sako (B. Braun Sheffield Sharks) said: "This will be my first time in the BBL Slam Dunk Contest, and I can't wait to put on a show. I've been in dunk contests before, winning the Hoopsfix All-Star Classic contest in 2021, so I know I can get it done, and I'm looking forward to competing for the title in Birmingham on January 29."

Maceo Jack (Cheshire Phoenix) said: “I’m excited to be a part of the BBL Cup Final Slam Dunk Contest. I’m looking forward to showcasing my athletic abilities alongside a group of really talented guys. Between the four of us I know we’ll put on an incredible show, but I’m going to do everything I can to bring the title back to Cheshire.”

James Hawthorne Jr (Plymouth City Patriots) "I'm so thankful for the opportunity to compete in the Slam Dunk Contest, and I want to show my gratitude by putting on a show for the fans. I've definitely got something special up my sleeve, so make sure you get your tickets to watch live!"
