Louisville guard Mason Faulkner joins the Patriots

Plymouth City Patriots have added the 6 foot 1 shooting guard, Mason Faulkner to their squad ahead of the 2023/24 British Basketball League season.

Hailing from Glasgow, Kentucky, the 25 year old had an extensive NCAA college career in Division one including stints at Northern Kentucky, Western Carolina and Louisville, averaging nearly 10 points and almost 4 assists per game throughout his six seasons, with a high of over 16 and 17 points per game for Northern Kentucky in 2019 and 2020. He has a multitude of honours and awards from college, including NABC All District First Team in 2020 and SoCon All Conference First Team Coaches Select, also in 2020. Faulkner amassed five double doubles and two triple doubles during that season.

It will be Faulkner's first season as a professional and an opportunity for the young American to show the British fans what he is capable of. Patriots fans will be keen to know that Faulkner has gained the reputation as a hard working and gifted young athlete. He claims the best advice he ever received in relation to basketball is ... Dont listen to the critics and dont quit...”

Coach Paul James was keen to sign Faulkner, saying Hes a very good player and has a great reputation.” He continued, some of his numbers in college have been nothing short of spectacular. He is definitely someone that will strengthen our squad, improve us in certain areas and give us more options on offence.”
