Marjon University student Will White steps into the British Basketball League for season 2

The Plymouth City Patriots have announced the return of Will White ahead of the 2023/24 British Basketball League season. The Plymouth Marjon University student returns to the Patriots squad for his second season and offers some young British talent to the line up.

White, 21 years of age, came through the CoLA (City of London Academy), playing in the Elite Academy Basketball League and is a second year student at Marjon University. He has enjoyed some limited, but we'll received playing time with the Patriots last season, always a fan favourite. The 6 foot 3 wing does boast excellent numbers in the BUCS A1 University Division, sinking an impressive 22.2 points per game.

White also impressed at National League level, pouring in 19.3 points per game for the Patriots NBL Division 3 squad. He was a key contributor to the D3 team, in a highly competitive senior basketball league. On several occasions, White would suit up for the Patriots BBL team having already played big minutes for Marjon or NBL D3 and was always reliable when called upon.

Over the summer White has kept himself busy playing for the London Warriors 3x3 team, in multiple tournaments across the country, as well as representing them in the DKB Tournament in Italy.

"Will has improved greatly over the duration of last season," commented Patriots Head Coach Paul James. He continued, "he is learning constantly and can certainly offer us some stability off the bench, particularly with his impressive range. He's great to coach and I look forward to working with him again this season."

Will White is another addition to the Patriots squad that is nearing its completion, as the 2023/34 season rapidly approaches. 15th September will see the Patriots play their first British Basketball League fixture of the forthcoming season, when they take on the Bristol Flyers away from home. Tickets are already on sale, and spaces are limited.
